Ambassador Soroosh Hosts a Virtual Meeting with a Group of Afghan - Canadian Physicians and Medical experts

Ottawa- May 20, 2020The Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa hosted a virtual meeting with a group of Afghan - Canadian physicians and medical experts. Ambassador Soroosh briefed the participants about the COVID-19 situation in Afghanistan and the relevant challenges, needs and priorities. The discussion focused on short-term coordinated support to COVID-19 response efforts in Afghanistan as well as long-term and sustainable programs for medical education and capacity building in Afghanistan that could be facilitated and supported by the Afghan - Canadian physicians and medical experts.Participants included Dr. Karim Qayomi; Dr. M Akseer; Dr. Naebkhil; Dr. Fatima Aryan; Dr. Malalai Jawid, Dr. Zabiullah Jahed; Dr. Nasir Jallah; Mr. Kaihan Ahadi, Consul General of Afghanistan in Toronto; Mr. Salem Wahdat, Consul General of Afghanistan in Vancouver; Mr. Sayed Mujtaba Ahmadi, Deputy Chief of Mission and Mr. Azim Wardak, Counselor from the Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa.
